Pav bhaji with slice onion and lemon |
A
hurried dinner for the people in the street.This is truly an innovation that
arose out of the necessity of providing a nice and very testy hot meal in a
hurry. When, I am tired and lazy to cook an entire dinner for my family. At
that time, pav bhaji is instantly comes to in my mind. It is easy to cook and
also very delicious test with great flavor. Pav bhaji is the most popular and
favorite dinner made by the mixture of various vegetables are boiled, mashed
and cooked with a spicy masala and served with butter fried pav.
Ingredients:
1. 4 medium Potatoes boiled and mashed
2. 4 medium Tomatoes chopped
3. 2 medium Onions chopped
4. 1 medium Green capsicum chopped
5. 1/4 small Cauliflower grated
6. 1/4 cup Green peas shield
7. 10-12 Garlic
8. 3-4 Green chilies chopped
9. 1 piece Ginger chopped
10. 1/4 cup Fresh coriander leaves chopped
11. 3 Lemons cut into wedges
12. 3 tablespoons Oil
13. 3 tablespoons Butter
14. 1 1/2 tablespoons Pav bhaji masala
15. Salt to taste
16. 8 piece Pav
Recipe:
1. Boil green peas in salted water till soft, mash lightly and set aside.
2. Grind green chillies, ginger and garlic to a fine paste.
3. Heat oil in a pan and add ¾ quantities of onions and saute till light brown.
4. Add green chilies, ginger-garlic paste and stir-fry for 1/2 mint.
5. Add 1/2 the quantity of tomatoes and cook on medium heat for 3 - 4 mints and stirring continuously or till oil separates from the masala.
6. Add capsicum, mashed peas, cauliflower, potatoes and 1 ½ cups of water.
7. Bring it to a boil and simmer for 10 mints, pressing with back of the spoon for a few seconds or till all the vegetables are completely mashed.
8. Add Pavbhaji Masala, salt and remaining tomatoes.
9. Cook on medium heat for 2 mints and stirring continuously.
Recipe for crispy pav:
1. Heat half of the butter in a thick-bottomed pan or a tawa.
2. Slice pav horizontally into two part and pan fry in butter for ½ a mint, pressing 2 or 3 times or till pav is crisp and light brown.
Now, Garnish the bhaji with chopped coriander leaves, remaining butter and serve hot with pav accompanied with remaining chopped onion and lemon wedges.
Note: you can also use cheese for garnish the bhaji with delicious test.
